Booking Policies and Information

I offer booking in several ways:

• Direct emails at naomi@naomi-ink.com

• DM’s via Instagram (response time may vary)

• Direct booking link in my bio

• Request form on my website

• In person booking at the shop

• I also offer walk ins at times. I will usually post about walk in availability on my Instagram!

I also reach out to people who complete Chameleon Ink’s Shop Tattoo Request Form, on which you can select me as an artist

CONSULTATIONS

I always offer free consultations to discuss designs. I can do consultations in person, over facetime, or over zoom.

TYPES OF TATTOOS

Bookings for my flash/pre-drawn designs is preferred, but I also am always open for custom work. I like illustrative, colorful, whimsical, anime, animals and insects, horror, pinups, and similar designs.

Designs I’m not super interested in working on include geometric designs, portraits/realism, watercolor, Nordic/Celtic/tribal designs.

This isn’t to say I WON’T book these, just that I may not be the best person for the job.

SMALL DESIGNS

If you want a small design that is 5 inches or smaller, my direct booking form in my Instagram bio is the best way to book.  The best designs for this include

• Small flash designs from my book or the shop flash book or Get-What-You-Get Machine, either with lines only, color, or shading

• Small custom linework designs or custom script/text designs

• Small custom designs with shading or just linework

If you are emailing or DM’ing to book your design, please be aware my response time can take a few days. If it has been a week and you haven’t heard from me, either resend or try another booking method. You can also call the shop to let me know!

TO BOOK VIA EMAIL OR DM

• Send a brief description of the design, size in inches, placement on body, if you want color/shading/lines only, and references images

• I will respond with any questions I have about the design, and questions about availability, or just send you a link to book the appointment. If I send you a link, you will need to pay a deposit to book. For some last minute bookings or for regular clients, I don’t always require a deposit.

TO BOOK VIA BOOKING LINK IN INSTAGRAM BIO

If you are booking through my direct booking link, you will need to complete the questionnaire with all required info about the design. After submitting the questionnaire, you will be redirected to a booking where you pick the date and time of your appointment and pay your deposit. IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE THIS SECOND STEP YOUR REQUEST WILL NOT BE PROCESSED AND YOU WILL NOT BE BOOKED. MY DIRECT LINK REQUIRES PAYPAL TO PAY THE DEPOST TO BOOK THE APPOINTMENT.

BOOKING IN PERSON

If you stop by and do an in person consultation at the shop, I will book you right then and there. I may require a deposit but usually with in person consultations people are more likely to show up for the actual tattoo so you may not have to pay one.

WALK INS

Walk ins work like you would expect—you walk in and if I have time for the design I do it right then!

BOOKING MULTIPLE PEOPLE

If you want to come in and get matching tattoos with friends or family, the best route for booking is to DM/Email me. I usually set up one slightly longer appointment to fit you all in at the same time instead of multiple appointments.

INFO ABOUT DEPOSITS

If I have you pay a deposit, it will usually be $100-$200, depending on the length of time of the appointment.

Deposits are NONREFUNDABLE. If you misunderstand booking policies, pricing, are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, or need to cancel within a week of the appointment, or reschedule more than once, you will NOT get your deposit back.

Deposits cover my time drawing and doing all the admin work that comes with tattooing and saves your appointment spot.

Your deposit will come off your total at checkout. If you pay a $100 deposit, and your tattoo costs $170, you will be paying $84.79 at the register after tax.

I usually only require one deposit per appointment, so if you are booking for multiple people, you can split the deposit evenly or apply it to one tattoo.

If you change the design significantly and I have to draw a whole new design from scratch, you will lose your deposit and have to pay a new deposit for the new drawing and reschedule your appointment.

PRICING

My minimum for custom work is $170 plus tax PER PERSON. I offer flash at the shop flash prices, starting at around $130 or at other pricing for events.

I usually charge per piece instead of hourly, unless the tattoo will take more than 3 hours. My hourly rate is $150 per hour.

Pricing covers material cost for your tattoo and any touch ups that will be needed. I offer free touch ups for a year starting 4 weeks after your tattoo is completed.

If you are booking an appointment for multiple people, plan your budgets accordingly, as each tattoo will have a separate cost.

If you are getting multiple small pieces in one session, I will usually give you a pricing break.

Please reach out immediately if you have questions about pricing

AT YOUR APPOINTMENT

Chameleon Ink is located at 1146 N State St. across from the Herald Building. WE ARE NOT PART OF OR IN THE HERALD BUILDING. The parking lot next to the shop is for the HERALD BUILDING ONLY. If you park in this lot, you risk being fined and/or towed. I recommend allowing yourself enough time to get to the shop and find street parking or park in a nearby garage. There is one on Railroad and one on Commercial.

Bring your Government-Issued ID to your appointment. When you arrive please scan the large QR code on the counter to start the consent form. If you are at the shop for a consultation or free touch up, you do not need to do the consent form.

The shop accepts cash, card, and tap-to-pay. If you’d like to leave a tip, you can do so via any of those methods.

DUE TO MY ALLERGIES PLEASE DO NOT SMOKE WEED OR CIGARETTES RIGHT BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT. YOU RISK NEEDING TO RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT AND ALSO SENDING ME INTO ANAPHYLAXIS. YOU CANNOT VAPE INSIDE THE SHOP AND IF YOU NEED A SMOKE BREAK YOU’LL NEED TO TAKE EXTRA TIME TO AIR OFF, SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

You may bring guests to your appointment but please limit it to 2 people. I have a bench for guests in my room. Prior to your appointment please let me know ASAP if you have any major medical concerns/allergies/questions

Please be aware that I offer appointment times that are outside the shop's open hours to accommodate clients. If you have scheduled outside shop open hours, I WILL BE THERE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. DO NOT SHOW UP LATE FOR YOUR SCHEDULED TIME BECAUSE THE HOURS SAY CLOSED--I WILL BE THERE. You may or may not see me in the building, but the door WILL be open. Come on in and I will come meet you in the lobby.

You may arrive early for your appointment if you wish, but please be aware I may not be available if you are more than 10 minutes early

Tattoo Care

Tattoo Pre-Care

In the week before your tattoo, please exfoliate the area at least once. Moisturize the area daily.

The day before your appointment, try to get a decent amount of sleep, avoid alcohol, energy drinks, and other blood thinners. Drink water and eat a meal around 2 hours prior to your appointment. I also have a snack station with treats and drinks in my room, and you are welcome to bring snacks as well.

Aftercare

I bandage tattoos 2 different ways:

  1. Saran Wrap

  2. Second Skin/Opsite Flexifix

With the saran wrap, leave the wrap on no more than 2 hours. Remove plastic, and begin regular aftercare.

For Second skin, you can leave the bandage on anywhere from 3-5 days. Remove the bandage in the shower under running water, peeling up an edge just enough to grip it. Use this piece to pull the bandage down, parallel to your skin. It will take time, but this is the gentlest way to remove the bandage. Do not pull bandage off like a bandaid. Once off, begin regular aftercare.

General Aftercare

Once your bandage or wrap is removed, use a gentle, perfume free soap to gently cleanse your tattoo. Rub in the soap in gentle circular motions, then rinse with warm water.

Pat dry with a clean towel, and allow it to get some air for a few minutes

Apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment and fully rub it into your skin until the tattoo is slightly shiny. Use a clean paper towel to gently dab off any extra. DO NOT USE NEOSPORIN OR TRIPLE ANTIBIOTIC PRODUCTS.

Do the above process twice a day for about 5 days, after which you can simply moisturize your tattoo as needed with perfume free lotion.

Keep your tattoo out of the sun and bodies of water such as bathtubs, pools, hot tubs, lakes, etc., until it is fully healed—around 4 weeks.

You may experience some flakiness as it heals, DO NOT rub or pull off flakes, as it can take deeper skin with it and pull ink out of the tattoo.

Avoid overly tight or rough clothing on the tattooed area while it is healing.

Do not rebandage your tattoo unless specifically instructed.

More info on Second Skin/Opsite Flexifix

The below image is an example of how a tattoo can look under the second skin bandage. Weepiness of the tattoo varies person to person and depends on the design. Full color or solid black tends to weep more, so you can expect more fluid in your bandage.

The fluid isn’t a concern, but if it gets really full, you can squish the fluid out the side of the bandage.

Second skin is waterproof so it is safe to shower with it on.

Tattoo Aftercare Product Recommendations

These are my recommendations for aftercare products. Generally you want to avoid anything perfumed!
